With 2018 midterm elections approaching, Downtown for Democracy hosted a Take Back The House event for Swing Left to raise awareness about voting in the upcoming elections in Florida’s 27th Congressional District (FL-27) and other swing districts around the country.

FL-27 is a Congressional District in Miami-Dade County that has been identified as a potential swing district in the 2018 midterm elections.  It's current representative, Republican Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, will not seek another term in the House of Representatives, leaving the seat open for 2018. The field of Democratic primary candidates is strong and, among others, includes a state senator, a former Federal judge, a state representative, a Miami Beach commissioner, and a Miami commissioner.
