Pro Beer Pro Football Pro Choice was originally part of a series of designs intended as a re-co opting of the monopolization of American or patriotic imagery by the ideologically Right Wing. This imagery aids the Right in proclaiming freedom only for the heteronormative cis white male while striving to enact control over the bodies of others. Fuck that. Movements like Black Lives Matter have brought the fraught and racist conception of America, and therefore its symbols, to the sobering focus of the mainstream who previously thought of these symbols as neutral or all inclusive. And if the Right has owned claim to these images all along a refiguring of these symbols is not just subversive but earnest and necessary for the goal of imagining a future that is equitable and benefits everyone.
